PLATFORMS

During the design phase of the Waterside Sustainable Developments floating homes an innovative method and design for floating platforms was identified and new joint venture company was formed called Advance Floating Platforms (AFP). AFP designs are currently being considered for the new piers J and F  in Westhaven Marina. They are also in the final stages of being selected to build floating parking lots, office and marina facilities.

FAQ

1. How are the pontoons installed?

Once the pontoon is placed in the water the ballast cavity is filled up and the pontoon lowers and becomes very stable.

4. Do polymer pontoons cost more than concrete?

It is about the same but they are 90% lighter before they go in the water and therefore have greatly reduced shipping and installation cost.

3. Do polymer pontoons last as long as concrete?

Plaztuff pontoons do not have the same problems concrete pontoons have with sea water seeping in to the steel and expanding it.

2. What sizes and shapes do the polymer pontoons come in?

Because PEL can prefab large sections and then weld them together at the marina before launch PEL is able to deliver very large pontoons and a wide variety if sizes and shapes.
